Theory session:

• What is manual handling?

• Recognition of the significance of safe handling of people

• The correct use of appropriate aids and equipment including hoists and turn-stands

• Safe techniques for ability testing, assisting a person to sit up, stand up, walk, transfer and        move backwards and forwards in a chair

• Safe techniques for ‘bed moves’ including positional changes and hoisting

Course: Mental Capacity Act and Dols

Aimed at: All staff working in adult health and social care settings, this course can be tailored for care staff or senior staff and managers.
